As you may be aware, beginning April 15, 2010 the Private Security and Investigative Services Act introduced and began to enforce the new Mandatory Training and Testing regulation. This means that all individuals wishing to work in any field related to security must participate in a mandatory 40 Hour training course followed by ministry testing held at participating Drive Test Centres throughout Ontario, in order to apply for an Ontario Security Guard Licence.

Individuals already licensed as Security Guards are exempt from the mandatory 40hr training course, however they must pass ministry testing in order to renew their Ontario Security Guard Licence.

This regulation ensures the increase in professional requirements for security guards and private investigators and will enhance public safety.
Naturally with the increase in qualification and professionalism, the industry will experience an increase in demand for security services with far more attractive pay structures.

Individuals wishing to pursue a career in security and/or investigations , but are not currently licensed to do so will have the options of taking the required training course
from one of the following entities:

• a public university
• a community college
• a private career college
• an agency licensed under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act to sell security guard and/or private investigator services
• a business entitiy registered under the PSISA that employs its own in-house security personnel. (Note: Registered business entities can only train their own employees)

Our classes are structured to cater to both working and non working individuals. For those that cannot afford to take time off work, we offer
our Mandatory 40 hour course in small time increments and stretch the course over a one month period.
For individuals with available daytime, we offer the Mandatory 40 hour course in an expedited 5 day period.
